About Citizen Child
At Citizen Child, we believe that child participation, transparency, inclusivity, and empowerment are the pillars of everything we do. We are a child and youth media-based Private Voluntary Organisation based in Harare, Zimbabwe, dedicated to transforming lives through the power of media, education, advocacy, and empowerment. We exist to motivate, inspire, and promote the voices of children and young people, especially those from marginalized communities across Zimbabwe and beyond.
Headquartered at 15 Tristine Gardens, Chadcombe, Harare, Citizen Child is driven by a deep belief that every child deserves an opportunity to be heard, to participate meaningfully in society, and to build a better future. With a strong focus on inclusion, transparency, and child participation, we use media as a powerful tool to create awareness, inspire positive action, and empower young people to become active and responsible citizens in their communities.

Our Journey
Citizen Child was established with a clear and purposeful vision — to be the leader in the production of media products that motivate, inspire, and promote marginalized communities, especially children and young people, to aim for and live a better life. We recognized that the voices of children and young people from marginalized communities were largely unheard, and we set out to change that through the power of media, practical skills development, and inclusive community engagement.
Since our establishment, we have built a growing reputation as a trusted and impactful organisation dedicated to child and youth empowerment across Zimbabwe. Through our media training programmes, media production projects, documentation work, and philanthropic activities, we have touched the lives of countless children and young people, giving them the skills, confidence, and platforms they need to express themselves and contribute meaningfully to their communities. We continue to grow our reach, deepen our impact, and expand our partnerships in pursuit of our mission to transform lives.
